At Catholic Regional College North Keilor we believe recognising each student’s efforts and achievements is central to raising their self-esteem and sense of connectedness.

Each student at the College is actively encouraged and supported to recognise and celebrate their own achievement and growth.

The following awards are presented to selected students who have excelled in a range of academic, sporting, and areas of service throughout the school year.

Learning Excellence Awards

Awards for academic excellence are presented each semester to the highest achieving student in each Learning domain. In Semester One, the awards are presented at a special College assembly. In Semester Two the awards are presented at the Annual College Awards Evening, held in Term 4.

Persistence, Engagement, Personal Responsibility Awards

Students who have demonstrated significant improvement by adopting a growth mindset and focusing on improving their personal best. The student has been able to consistently raise the standard of their work through a commitment to their learning and adopting the growth habits of Persistence, Engagement and Personal responsibility.

College Dux Award

The annual College Dux Award is presented to the highest achieving Year 10 student across all subject areas.

John Arthurson Award

Sponsored by the College Parents and Friends Association in recognition of Mr John Arthurson, College Principal from 1995 - 2005, the John Arthurson Award is presented to one student in each year level. The criteria for selection includes; persistence, consistent effort, resilience, striving to achieve, and positive relationships with peers and staff.

Sister Veronica Lonergan Leadership Award

Sister Veronica Lonergan taught in Catholic Schools for more than sixty years, the last twenty of these were spent at CRC North Keilor. This award is presented to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to their faith life and involvement in the faith life of the College and their local Parish.

Philip Kechenovich Sports Excellence Award

Philip attended CRC North Keilor from 2004 – 2007. An outstanding sportsman who contributed significantly to College team sports and to coaching younger students. Philip's family sponsor this award which is presented to a Year 10 sportsperson who has shown outstanding sportsmanship and commitment.

Jacob Betadam Arts Award

The Jacob Betadam Arts Award is sponsored by the Betadam family in honour of their son, past student Jacob. The award is presented to a Year 10 student who has excelled in the area of Visual Arts.

University of Melbourne Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program

The award is sponsored by the University of Melbourne in recognition of former Vice-Chancellor Kwong Lee Dow. It is a three-year academic enrichment scholarship designed to assist high achieving students in realising their full potential through creating a network and community of students.  

Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award

The Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award recognises students who demonstrate leadership and teamwork within both the school and broader community. At the same time, it recognises those who display strong values, such as doing one’s best, respect for others, and ‘mateship’, which are integral to Australian society.

Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award

The Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award recognises Australian students’ science, mathematics, engineering and technology abilities and encourage the continued development of these skills. STEM skills are critical to assist with all elements of the work of the ADF, including reasoning, problem solving, application of rigorous analysis and objective and critical thinking skills.
