The beginning of a child’s secondary school education, Year 7, is an exciting time for students and their families.

Our aim is to enrich the experience of every student by providing a positive learning experience that follows them throughout their school journey. Our highest priority is to enable our students to be curious with their learning and to seize the opportunities available to them.

Catholic Regional College North Keilor is committed to helping our students to grow and flourish as they embark on their secondary learning journey.

We encourage each student beginning their learning journey at the College to:

  • take ownership and responsibility for their own learning
  • challenge themselves
  • demonstrate grit and determination
  • seek help when they need it.

The College maintains high expectations for our students to achieve the best they can. For Year 7 students, the expectation is that they allocate a maximum of one hour each night to complete homework. Parents are able to monitor homework which is listed on the College Parent Portal by subject teachers. We strongly encourage parents to be actively engaged in what their child is learning and to continuously monitor the Parent Portal to keep students accountable for their own learning.
