Open Day 2010 was by all accounts a very successful day. The weather turned out to be perfect, and a warm Autumn day welcomed the visitors to the College. Mr Wade personally met most of the 132 families at the front of the school while members of the Parents and Friends took their registration detail. Many of the families were new to the College and were looking forward to discovering why “CRC is The Place to Be”.

Shortly after that, the visitors were introduced to their Tour Guide. The 38 Tour Guides were impeccably dressed in the College Uniform and were armed with facts and figures about the College, which enabled them to competently take their tour group to the various locations which were being highlighted on Open Day. They certainly did themselves and the College proud in their roles as Ambassadors. Many staff and parents commented positively on our fantastic Tour Guides (see names on the back of this page). My personal  thanks and congratulation to these students for their assistance and enthusiasm.

Our Tour Guides were very well assisted by many other students who helped in other areas such as classroom demonstration, food  technology, singing, dancing, being Scientists at work, designing and controlling robots, as Visual Artists, demonstrating in Health & PE classes or as Mathematicians solving the number of problems of the world. Once again the enthusiasm and commitment of these students shone through to the parents and students on the tour. Thank you!

We were very fortunate to have a large number of parents who volunteered to assist on Open Day. In fact 23 parents helped with a number of tasks including welcoming the parents and children who attended, talking about the P & F Association, organising and serving afternoon tea and preparing and cooking the BBQ. Their assistance was invaluable and very much appreciated. I heard many visiting parents comment on the positive involvement of our parents. Thank you once again for your support.
